I took part in a podcast recently with The Non-Alchemist in which we discussed supernatural claims within the modern Pentecostal and charismatic movements.

This was interesting to watch; thank you!
I wonder if you have any particular insights on the psychology behind why people get caught up in charismaticism (assuming they are sincere — not talking about the scammers and charlatans here). My own personal theory, based on experience, is that it tends to appeal to people who have attention deficit problems (i.e., non-miraculous spirituality isn’t exciting enough for them), and people who are dissatisfied with their lives on some level — the extraordinary and supernatural promises them a “quick fix.” What do you think?
Hi Sharon, I have an article here on my blog called the Seduction of Charismania which looks at some of that.
